Had to stop..

Due to financial reasons I have had to stop all of my kits. I got very depressed. However I still have 2 entire kits from Swirlydoo that I haven't even touched. I wish I could find the right pictures for them. I miss the excitement of getting the kits, I am hoping that I will be able to rejoin after the new year. If not I'll still haunt the sight for inspiration. Great talent there.

My daughter is so unhappy about football season being over. She loved being the athletic trainer for the football team. Now however she is working the girls basketball. Last night was her first game and she said is was boring.

My grandson has dyslexia and since the grade school has finally decided that yes he does, they have started givin him help and he is really doing well.

Mojo is gone again

Waiting for my October Swirlydoo kit, I know, it's only September...I haven't scrapped in a few weeks, I am hoping this new kit will inspire me. Oh, my daughter went to her very first Homecoming and I need to scrap that as soon as a get some pictures. She was and is beautiful

Me and my daughter about the same age. Ok so there is no denying I'm her mother. The picture of me was very old and faded. You can even see the darkness where it was in a photo album. Another wonderful Swirlydoo kit. I did a great deal of Fussy cutting on the one. No If i just learn to make my titles straight. :)

Catching up.

Sorry it has been so long. I still haven't managed to buy a camera...so sad. I have asked to use my daughters, but that is like asking for her kidney. So I will just keep trying. She has been asked to her first formal dance, the Homecoming in 2 weeks. I didn't think Freshman went to the homecoming dances. We are going shopping this afternoon. The boy who asked her wants to come along. How strang is that. I received the most wonderful Swirlydoo kit this weekend. It is called MonAmour. Krissy just is so great at picking out and putting together kits. I truly like the blogger on Breaking Barriers, she is so creative and "makes" so much of her scrabbing. Like the pattern paper and such. Her name is Lidia and I truly admire her for all she does without a "KIT" per say. I have to have a kit to match stuff up for me

Back in the Saddle

I hope to be able to buy a new camera this weekend and then perhaps I can get some layouts posted. I had a ball at the convention and can not believe I haven't posted since then. I guess I have so much fun blog hopping I never touch base with my own. I'll try to do better. My daughter starts High School in about a week...This morning I took her to orientation and dropped her off. It reminded me so much of leaving her at first grade..She looked so scared.It broke my heart. She really is a lovely girl.

I just can not wait for Friday and Saturday. I get to spen two all days at The Great American Scapbook Convention. I have six classes and 2 full days of shopping. Tim Holtz will be there and I plan to sit and watch him for awhile. I still have not had my printer or computer fixed, but I have been scrapping up a storm. Everyone have a good day

Depressed

Kind of depressed lately. No camera, no computer....I have several new layouts done though. I am working on getting both repaired. If I had the money I would just go and buy a new one of each, all my own, that no one else could use.

Ok enough of the pity party...

I'm wondering, does everyone have a guilty conscience for the amount of money they spend on this obsession? I have now signed up for two kits a month and please don't tell DH, but one of them is about $60.00 and that doesn't include the extra flowers(which I love). I know if he figured out I spent $100 a month on scrapbooking I would be in deep..... However, I am already feely so bad about it because we truly don't have that much to spare. I love the one kit so much, I think I will stop the other one however. My Swirly habit will HAVE to be fed though.

The Swirlydoo kits, just pop. Ladies, if you haven't tried them please do. Krissy is awesome at picking out stuff. The only problem I have is that they are not flat and putting them in a binder is hard.

Well my mojo has found it's way home. I have completed 2, 2 page layouts in about 5 days. I am extremely pleased with them. As soon as I can I will get photos and post them. I hope it doesn't run away again. I have so many pictures to scrap.....

Computer down at Home.

So sad....the second heart attack it has had in as month, I think it is time to shoot it and get it overwith. I am not able to upload/download layouts with out it....bummer. I am working on something else.

I have done one layout all on my own(no challenge) and now I am trying to get into my newest Swirlydoo kit...I have taken it out twice and still nothing. I purchased more feathers for it. I do believe I have found the perfect picture however the layout calls for one large and two small......and that I do not have. Think, Think, Think.....

I can do this. The photo I have is of my father when I was about 4 or 5 years old...He had taken dance lessons and it is a photo that looks like an Arthur Miller Dance Studio picture. His dance partner is in a red dress and Dad is all dressed up in black. Hard to believe he had a life other than me huh?

This one is for a Grunge challenge. Again another first for me. All mine so far have been cutesy little girl ones. I new experience and I loved it...I finished this one at 2 am the other morning.

I have also found, so far that the community of scrappers is one of enthusiastic, caring individuals with awesome talent and like me an addiction that knows no bounds.Yesterday I got up a little early, not unusual because I have trouble sleeping, anything more than 4 hours a night is considered GREAT, anyway my daughter got up and found me at the kitchen table scrapping. In my search for pictures to scrap my new Swirlydoo kit with I found some others that truly motivated me. My poor dog, Baby,was sitting in the living room looking at me forlornly waiting to be taken out. Caity(my daughter) chastised me for ignoring her, but I was so into my zone that it did not even register. I'll have to post a picture of baby she is really not a cute dog, but I think she is adorable, everyone else thinks she is a hairy blonde rat..and when she is wet she looks like one. Back to my story, I went home today at lunch, took Baby out, put my smart one in the microwave and sit down to my layout...I am so eager to get back home to work on it.

My First Post.

Hi! My name is Marilynn and I thank you for stopping by. I am not quite sure what exactly a "blog" is all about, but I am a quick learner.

I love to Srapbook and that love lead me to clicking onto blogging links that led me to wonder people with layouts that I never ever would have dreamed of. The talent out there is so awe inspiring. I have been scrapping for about 4 years and fell in love with it, however I have not, could not, imagine the different techniques out there, painting, stamping, distressing, sewing, cutting, pasting, flowers, pearls, jewels, everything that is beautiful. I am humbled.

My blog spot is a work in progress, I have no idea how to make it beautiful like some, but I will learn and I will create. My promise to myself.

I have been married, wow this year makes 35 years, seems like yesterday, and yes I am proud of that. My daughter who is 14 has very few friends that live with both parents. She tells me she is very proud to announce to everyone. I have a 30 year old son, who in turn has gifted me with a grandson who is 8. My husband and my son share the same birthday, how wierd is that.
